A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Nicole! I was born and raised in Tigard, Oregon and currently live in Aloha, Oregon. The two dogs you see with me are Oakley, the Australian Cattle Dog mix and Keanu, the DDR German Shepherd.

I've always loved dogs, but was never able to have one of my own growing up. When I finally got my first dog, Oakley, I quickly realized I was in over my head. She was not a dog that was going to lie around the house all day. She needed much more from me. I sought out help from Pooches Pals Dog Training and was introduced to balanced dog training. The results we had with Oakley changed our whole relationship and I fell in love with it. The trainers at Pooches Pals became my mentors and invited me to work alongside them to learn all about their process. Now, here I am helping other owners bridge the gap with their dogs. I am constantly continuing to learn as every dog is different and presents new challenges. When I'm not training dogs, I work as a chiropractic assistant and I enjoy working out, snowboarding, and getting outside with my two pups.
ABOUT THE TRAINING
Training is catered to your goals and what your dog needs, but there is always a foundation of basic obedience. Training is much more than teaching your dog sit and down. It is providing a framework of structure in order to give your dog a job and teaching you how to mentally fulfill them. I'm an advocate of utilizing tools such as a crate, prong collar, ecollar, etc. These tools allow for consistent communication across the entire household. I focus on building engagement and providing structure to strengthen your relationship and bring out the best in your dog.

SOME HAPPY CLIENTS
Cyprus
I reached out to Nicole/Oakley's Pack when I was close to wits end trying, in vain, to train my goofy, but stubborn pup myself. She translated for me and Cyprus and taught him great skills that took him from not knowing what to do with his energy to being able to fully participate in adventures as a calm, confident family member.

Counting down the days for my other pup's turn to go to Oakley's Pack!
Lambeau
Oakley’s Pack was an absolute game changer not just for our 8 month old Bernese Mountain Dog, Lambeau, but for our entire family! We decided to send Lambeau to Oakley’s Board and Train because we knew not only would he grow into a very large/strong dog but we also had just brought home our first child. Our hope was that through training Lambeau would be apart of our family life without stress; that we could go on family walks without pulling, that he would not be reactive to other animals, that he would follow commands both in and outside of the home, and lastly that he would have the foundation of obedience that is needed around children! Lambeau returned home from training a completely different dog and was able to join in all our family activities! He walks calmly on outings, he no longer jumps in excitement, he follows commands, & has become the best family dog we could have dreamed of! Oakleys Pack will forever be apart of our lives and where we send our next family dog!
Niko
Our 3 year old pit mix was a complete spaz with no manners whatsoever before he joined Oakley's Pack. Nicole was able to quickly connect with him and gain his trust and help him learn to respect rules and boundaries. After a few weeks, our pup came home like a new dog. Obedient, calm and most importantly WE have a better understanding of what he needs with structure and discipline. I highly recommend this training for any dog. Thank you Nicole!

Where are you located?I am located in Beaverton, Oregon.

What is an ecollar? An ecollar uses the same muscle stimulation technology as a TENS unit at the chiropractor or physical therapy. It is not the same as a shock collar. There are 100 levels on the collar I use. This allows for consistent communication in a way the dog understands. I can use a low level stim as a tap on the shoulder or a high level stim in an emergency. Those high levels are only used when needed. The stim will match the stimulus.
-
Is there homework after training?Yes! I've laid the foundation of your dog's training, it's up to you to maintain it. This looks like incorporating new habits into your daily life rather than focusing on a certain skill in a training session.

What if my dog needs more than 3 weeks?I am transparent with you about how your dog is progressing. If they need more time, I will tell you. Every dog is different. Additional weeks do not cost extra.

Is my dog too old for this? No. Old dogs can learn new tricks!
